Mesh 2007 Photo Slideshow

Wednesday, June 6th, 2007

Created with Paul’s flickrSLiDR.

I had a really fun time at Mesh this year running around playing Flickr paparazzi with my buddy Rannie Turingan, we gotta get Geo Perdis into our cabal next time.

*sniff* – reminds me of the good old days shooting web conferences with Kris Krug. Why can’t Vancouver and Toronto be closer to each other?

BarCamp Toronto Tech Week

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

We the geeks of TorCamp are throwing BarCamp Toronto Tech Week on Saturday, May 26th and you’re invited. To register, add yourself on the BarCamp Toronto Tech Week wiki page. There is no cost, all we ask is that you participate – the whole idea of a BarCamp is that it’s a participatory event. We have space for 120, so register and let your friends know. We love diversity of interests and levels of familiarity with BarCamp, why not bring a first timer along?

Toronto Technology Week is an initiative of ICT Toronto to host a week long series of events to celebrate technology in the Toronto region. Toronto is the largest high-tech hub in Canada and the third largest in North America. This week is packed with events including the Mesh Coference, Enterprise 2.0 Conference, InteractionCamp and Canadian New Media Awards.

Organizers Ryan Coleman, Dan Kurtz, Bryce Johnson and Mark Kuznicki have helped share the organizing responsibilites with me. This is my first time helping organize a BarCamp, it’s quite the experience.

See you there! :)

Raincity Studios at SXSW 2007

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

Haha, my colleagues and friends at Raincity Studios made a hilarious video of their exploits at this year’s South by Southwest festival. I miss my days at Raincity and each and every person in the company, especially after watching this video. I guess I’ll just have to be happy as a co-founder, instead of an active member of the team. The world called me to other projects, but the emotional investment remains the same.

RCS CEO and 1/3 of our co-founding team, Robert Scales, a few RCS folks will be in Toronto from May 10th to 13th. If any TorCampers want to meet a badass Canadian new media entrepreneur – let me know. I’m sure we can setup a dinner and drinks in his honor.

Juction photoshoot – full set

Last weekend my friends Rannie Turnigan (aka Photojunkie), Jay Goldman, Madhava Enros and I went on a Canon camera crew outing to shoot Toronto’s Junction neighborhood. You can click their names to see their photographs from the day.

In a city full of condo developments and urban renewal projects, the Junction has been left out. Half of the storefronts had “for lease” signs, and the other half were not open in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. But that didn’t stop us from shooting our little Canon loving hearts out.
