Wednesday, October 11th, 2006I found out on Facebook today that two awesome friends got engaged. Later I realized that even a few months ago finding out this way would be “strange”, while today I didn’t bat an eye about how I heard the news.
Lesson for people who make things for young people: we adapt quicky. Faster than we realize most days, actually.

Friday, September 15th, 2006Sweet, I hope HBO leaves this up.
The biggest surprise was finding the entire version of When the Levees Broke, a 4 hour documentary on Katrina and New Orleans. This film is Lee’s best non-fiction work and the best Katrina related film I have seen. The film goes to the very roots of the Katrina disaster (the man-made one) following the trails of race, Louisiana oil and politics.
The entire film comes in 26 parts: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26.

Wednesday, August 16th, 2006My friend and kickass writer Jackson West has a new blog on Om Malik‘s blog network called DaBlunt. Yes, the internet needs a fresh injection of defness. I mean, Glenda‘s back is probably tired from carrying all the weight, people.
If you’ve ever snuck into the bathroom at work to get in some quality time with your PSP, gotten rid of your television because you can just download theatrical releases to your desktop, had people wander by your cubicle to see what you’re watching on YouTube or spent more time reading and going to movies than attending classes at art school, then this blog is probably for you. Video, music, gadgets and other media technology make it easy to kiss real life goodbye, and I’d like to hope that Da Blunt will help lead you down this rabbit hole.
