Readings

Here is some of what I have been reading since April 1st:

  • Youngistan
"India will add 120 million people of working age over the next decade…China, on the other hand, will add only 19 million people in the same period"
  • Kauffman Chief Investment Officer says private derivatives are a brewing crisis
Harold Bradley says exchanges and clearinghouses are not enough, there needs to be "national market system for fixed income and credit with displayed prices and the posting of open interest and market positions"
  • Factory orders indicate V-shaped economic recovery
"At the very least, the economy wants very much to return to its former level of activity, and to accomplish that requires a lot more growth, more profits, and more jobs; all of which we are likely to see in the next year or so."
  • Give Boys a Challenge
One of my mentors Rob Paterson reminds us that boys can achieve greatness when given real challenges. Go back just 100 years and you will find children and young men admirably performing "adult" responsibilities.
