Mark Zuckerberg is My Kind of Crazy
Published on 28/06/07
by Will Pate
“Obviously, we all want to sell, at least some of the equity. But Mark owns the whole thing and he’s a crazy kid. He doesn’t let us in on his ideas, and all he cares about are the users.”
If you’re looking for reasons why Facebook is so successful right now, everything else is secondary. Mark is passionate about his users, to the point of having other people call him crazy. You need to fight for your community. He tells his partners to back off, and let him focus on his community. Mark, if you’re out there: you’re my kind of crazy.

Personally, being a newbie with nothing to compare, I think Facebook now is a thousand times better than MySpace.
In regards to the Valleywag article, I’m starting to like Zuckerberg a lot more than originally. I was one who thought he blew it when he didn’t sell to Yahoo. But maintaining 100% ownership and enhancing the community in the interests of the community… this guy is on it! He just might be my new hero!

Ha Ha, I know…it hasn’t been around that long, but I was a member of Facebook over 2 years ago…

Being somewhat of a FB n00b myself, I’d have to agree. I could do an entire lecture on how the social dynamics of that site have completely messed with and enhanced its audience at the same time, and keep em coming back for more. Such is the beauty of those damn addicting social networking platforms. Technology is a fickle lover.
