You hear the news? Check Facebook

I found out on Facebook today that two awesome friends got engaged. Later I realized that even a few months ago finding out this way would be “strange”, while today I didn’t bat an eye about how I heard the news.
Lesson for people who make things for young people: we adapt quicky. Faster than we realize most days, actually.

This post rings so true, it is amazing how things are changing so quickly. Just the other day my father expressed shock at the fact that someone sent me a job offer by email, but to me it seemed perfectly normal. Next thing you know, we are going to be able to program ourselves to drive to work. Which would be strange, but nice. I think. Anyway, I can dig what you’re saying about facebook– it is strangely addicting, sometimes scary, but apparently always a useful way to find out that two people you know are engaged.
